Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, username, email, password (hashed), account type.
• Profile data: bio, avatar, website, category, location and the social accounts you connect or add. Public profile data is visible to everyone.
• Social API data: when you connect an account through an official API we store the profile handle and public metrics (followers, posts, engagement). Access tokens are encrypted at rest and used only to refresh metrics.
• Payment data: payments are processed by Razorpay. We store transaction identifiers, amounts and status — never card numbers.
• Usage data: anonymised profile views and ranking views (hashed session identifiers), device and browser information.

2. How we use it

• To operate profiles, rankings, bidding, wallets and notifications.
• To calculate Social Score from measurable metrics.
• To detect fraud, duplicate accounts and bid manipulation.
• To send transactional emails (outbid alerts, payment receipts) according to your preferences.

3. Sharing

We share data with processors needed to run the service (hosting, database, payments, email). We do not sell personal data. Public profile and ranking information is, by design, public and may be indexed by search engines.

4. Your rights

You can edit your profile, disconnect social accounts, change notification preferences and delete your account from Settings. You may request a copy of your data at privacy@rankmysocialmedia.com.

5. Security and retention

Data is stored with row-level security, encrypted in transit and at rest. Financial ledger records are retained as required by law even after account deletion.
